Emojis for the Visually Impaired

n the UK, over two million people are currently living with sight loss, and many struggle to use emojis due to their small size, intricate details, and the complexity of navigating emoji keyboards. To address this challenge, we collaborated with the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) to develop innovative solutions for making emojis more accessible to people with visual impairments.

We kicked off with a one-day workshop using the joint creative power and expertise of our teams to find a way to re-design a selection of 2018’s top ten most used emojis, in a way that would make them more accessible to blind and partially sighted people.
